KAZOKU PHILOSOPHY
Kazoku’s foundation is traditional, fresh, and robust. Our broth is homemade from scratch, reducing bones to a rich “umami” or essence of meaty and savory deliciousness. Your taste buds will love the experience!

Ramen is the quintessential Japanese soul food. You can find ramen noodles in broth every corner of the country and in seemingly endless regional variations. Slurping your ramen is part of Japanese etiquette and not only it is the ideal way to enjoy a bowl of ramen, but it can also be downright insulting to the Chef if you eat it too quietly!

Our Story
Kazoku means family. Family is one of the most important thing in life. Our Family lived and owned a restaurant in NYC, we moved to Charlotte in 2021 and found out what we’re missing. It is our dream to bring Japanese atmosphere, authentic flavors of Japanese comfort food, and is our pleasure to introduce Japanese soul food and hospitality to Charlotte. We’re equipped to make any meal memorable. We promise you'll feel like family the moment you step through our door. Our focus is not on profit margins, but rather on the guests’ complete satisfaction. Kazoku is a place for you and your family, whether by blood or not, can gather and enjoy Japanese soul food, drinks and atmosphere.
Executive Chef
Chef Hans came to the U.S in 1998, working his way up from a kitchen helper to a manager and eventually General Manager and Restaurant Owner in NYC.
During his career, he mastered several concepts, such as Thai, Japanese, Asian Fusion, Vietnamese Fusion, Korean… but his, and his family’s true love has always been Ramen!
Having graduated from “Ramen School”, Hans was able to create the best and most flavorful Ramen, and now he is out to showcase his skills and food to Charlotte, where he is currently looking to build his model store for future development!
